Plastic silver belt trim renovation cheap!

After 2.5 years stored outside in the Florida sun I noticed the two plastic silver trim belts upper and lower have gotten foggy. I did purchase 100 foot roll of the thinner belt line trim piece for $100.00. This roll would easily replace the upper(thinner) belt trim with plenty of extra. I decided to play a bit with trying to un fog the belt trim strip ....and I succeeded in bringing back the high gloss reflective beauty without changing any of the trim strip.I had purchased some time ago for a different use NOVUS PLASTIC POLISH #2. I applied a small amount of the polish to a terry cloth rag and lightly rubbed on the foggy trim strip, then buffed out the polish and viola the trim had new trim reflective silver shine again. The whole project took approximately 30 minutes.so before you spend hundreds on new trim rolls try this neat ,cheap fix. I am sure that the NOVUS #2 polish can be easily purchased on AMAZON....GIVE IT A TRY!

Awesome! Actually had a bottle of the red #2 the DW bought some time back for something she was working on. Just tried it on a small section of the trim on our ‘14. Shines like new! Thanks for the tip!
