Perplexing Indeed

Greetings fellow Streamers:

I am the happy owner of a 2017 25a FC.

I have found that when the bathroom fan is on, it scrambles the air signal on the Television. The enhanced air signal is on.

I can turn the bathroom fan off, and the Television signal resumes to its tack-sharp picture.

Is this just interference or a wiring problem? Any observations, comments or cuss words would be welcome! Thank you.

I suspect that is nothing more then static from the brushes in the fan motor. My coffee grinder does the same thing.

We have been Airstreaming for thirteen years now. We have always experienced that same thing. I am not aware of any way to avoid it.

I'm no electrical engineer, but would attaching a ferrite to the leads on the fan eliminate the problem? I installed a couple of 12v fans in my trailer and they both had ferrites on them already, but I don't see any on the fantastic fans...

Clamp-on ferrites can help a lot. And sometimes soldering a small ceramic disc bypass capacitor right across the brush leads close to the motor housing helps as well.
