Outside Over Entry Door Light.

2008 Flying Cloud 25 footer. Light bulb has burned out above the entry door. The cover has 2 screws holding the cover on but it appears to have a rubber gasket securing it to the body of the trailer. Is there a trick to this process? Should I simply pry the cover off and then apply another gasket of some sort? I don't want it looking like poop.

Also, are there LED bulbs that can be used instead of the OEM bulb?

Thanks in advance.

When I replaced the incandescent light bulb on our 2007 Bambi with LED, I was able to just remove the clear lens cover, I did not have to mess with the metal casing.

Do Not take the metal off the aluminum skin! It is caulked In place. The lens cover on the bottom is removable and the bulb should be able to be replaced with an LED in there? When I get home I’ll post a pic of the process

I had to remove the two screws below the lens cover to get more clearance. I then pryed the lens cover off. You remove the burned out bulb and replace it with either an LED board that has two wires to bayonet base or go with an LED bulb with that type of base. I went with the second option.

The interior is 95% LED already. What a difference when we changed those out.

Not sure where or what to do now with the over door bulb. Where do I find an LED that will work on the wiring that I already have? I only need one LED, but how can I be sure what will be compatible with the "socket" that it goes in to?

Man, I can hear the "How many XXX does it take to change a lightbulb" jokes. lol

The bulb is probably 12 volt bayonet style. A 12 volt led same config. use w/nothing else to do just twist in, no spec. any thing.

I replaced mine with a square LED array with a jumper wire to the bayonet socket. Lots brighter with no heat. Got it from LED4RV.

Hey there. Would mind giving the name/part number/source for that LED unit? I’d like to get one for my ‘74. Thanks!

Our 2010 International used a T10 bulb which I replaced with this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

...however I found that bulb frequently rattled loose so I replaced it with a bayonet (1156) socket and this bulb https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
