Newbie lock question

The spousal unit and I retrieved our '68 Safari last week. Unfortunately, the seller was working when we arrived and left his father to deal with us. Very nice fellow, but pretty much clueless about the AS.

We asked for the key to the entry door. He had no such key, never had. We asked for the keys to the other lockable panels on the exterior. Again, has no such keys, never did.

Oh, well. Looks like we need to replace/re-key every lock. I was wondering if there is a practical (read "do-able") DIY fix for this? We've contacted three locksmiths and each scratches their head and quotes a pretty high fee just to come look at the thing to say whether they can do it or not.

So, is this something we can do ourselves?

Thanks...

Jay Dunham

Locakable outside compartment usually all use the same key which can normally be purchased from RV suppliers. Alternatively, new cylinders can easily be installed.
Entry door deadbolts can also be easily replaced with big box store component.

This will give you the key chart and you can order the replacement keys directly from JC.
