I had all four of the 15" load range D Carlisles on my 31' fail within 10000 miles. When they failed, they failed catastrophically and without warning.
In fairness, that was 10 years ago and they certainly could have made vast improvements by now.
Went to GYM's (two sets since). New tires last fall are the GYE's.

Yes I run carlisle long time with out any prob. ever exc. ran screw thru side wall replaced w/load E, other tires are D but E came out after pur. of D, now E rated less money than D. I tow 70 or above but haven't been in hot states. as where most failures occur for any brand. If ran hot states would slo down as heat from fat tow and low pressure causes failure. I have all ways ran 65psi on AS.
Yes, I put on a set of Carlisle LRE tires last year and I like them. I had Maxxis on but when I went to replace them they were much more expensive and only LRD. Carlisle is rated at 80 mph and the LRE costs less than what I had on.
10 years ago is a long time. Yes, they are better now. I ran some cheap Carlisle tires on a hybrid I had about 12 years ago and they blew on me. Not the same tire today.
