Magic Chef oven has gone crazy!!

I have a 1972 Sovereign with the original wall mounted Magic Chef oven. We camped in April and I used the oven several times. The back of the oven tended to burn so I adapted and cooked only toward the front. We had the trailer in for extensive frame repairs after that so we only just were able to go out again last week. My oven was crazy! A batch of cookies was charcoal after twelve minutes so I turned the oven down 50 degrees and tried again. That batch was charcoal after 6 minutes. I figure that we have a thermostat problem but hate to start randomly replacing parts until I happen across the actual problem. Any suggestions on how to chase this down? And where can I find the thermostat etc for an oven this old??

The burner tubes may have rusted out and are letting in to much gas thus larger flame. Or the thermostat may be junk.

Remember this unit is 44 years old and parts may not be available . May be time for a new oven ,in the meantime don't use it !
