Low Temperature Flux-Core Welding

Has anyone seen/tried this in a pinch for body repairs? I thought it would be a good addition to the emergency box.

I have seen people peddling similar rods at flea markets for years. They usually tacking things like beer cans together with the rods and a propane torch.

Those rods are not suitable for repairing sheet metal on my Airstream.

If the bumper was torn maybe that could be repaired with those rods, but that's not an emergency.

I can't think of any emergency that would require welding aluminum.

With conventional welding techniques, the 2024 aluminum alloy in our vintage Airstreams is NOT weldable. Bad idea to even try.

Have used the rods that they sell at the flea markets. Totally worthless for repairing an Airstream. At best they are a sort of Al solder that does not flow or stick well.
