long hiatus - what to look for?

Well after a long hiatus I am going to use my 1972 AS. How long you ask, well lets just say 10 years. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on things to check/inspect before use.

Before towing I will remove wheels and put on new tires. I will be going through all the systems one at a time as time permits. My main concern here is safety at first. Then any tips or problem areas from sitting so long.

Thanks, Dave

A few things

that come to mind right away are these:

- have the gaskets & seals dried up / cracked on holding tank drain valves?
- bearings probably need repacking / replacement
- water valves might need a rebuild to replace dried out gaskets
- water system will need sanitizing
- new battery
- axles tired from sitting / weight bearing all that time w/o movement?
- wiring chewed by varmints?
- vent hole in gas pressure regulator plugged by insects?
- propane tanks out of date / needing replacement?
- all window and door seals need some sil-glide or similar
- locks rusted / frozen?
- new tank drain slinky is cheap insurance

must be more things than that ...

A willing buyer? This is just past peak season for selling project airstreams; catching folks with cabin fever and lengthening days is best....

definately get on roof and check the vent pipes to ensure there is NO chance of holding tank fumes getting drawn back inside the shell...
