JC or not?

We have an 07 FB Safari that sits in the South Florida sun all year. We are going to be in Cincinnati to visit relatives and wonder if there is any reason to go to JC, if for no other reason than to check the seams and caulk. (Oh, I also like to go to JC just because.)

Everything is fine as far as we can tell, but is a check up due?

Thanks!

Pat

Yes, absolutely. Go and take it all in. You will not regret the side trip.

Hi Pat, went to JC first week of June and had some warranty work done on our 08. If you are that close, it is worth a trip, and if you have not taken the factory tour it is fun, and they are now making the 2010s.

There was a great thread here yesterday about inspecting bearings, brakes, etc. better to be safe than sorry later. Other maintenance of appliances is also a good thing. Caulking seals on the roof should be a yearly thing, and in Florida, might bump that to every 6 months. Leaks can happen anywhere, so inspecting the seams, especially around windows, doors, tail lights should be on your routine.

If there is anything you would like JC to add onto your trailer, like awnings, etc, that were options, make sure to call in advance of your service appointment by at least 2 weeks, because they will have to order parts. They are running lean and mean these days.

They have several vintage trailers that they have collected and Wally's gold anodized trailer is there, as well as the first trailer manufactured at Jackson Center. Definite photo opportunities for sure.

So, there's my 2 cents worth!

Nancy

If ya have the time Id go to JC. Take the tour and even if you have already been,we always find something we missed on the last tour.
Since you will be in the area and are gonna have some caulking done (call ahead) U could stay all night at the lot there Free if you are a paying customer and then visit the National Museum of the US Airforce which is only about 5 miles east of I 75 and You could stay hooked up because they have a huge parking lot.I see motorhomes there all the time.
Id go for it.

Thanks for the replies! I called JC and they are booking into the week of the 20th. That date does not work with our travel plans, so may try again later in the summer. Today is the 3rd and I was hoping for the 13th. I am disappointed, but did not decide to go far enough in advance. Will do better next time.

It was well worth the trip when we had our 63 Safari several years ago.

Not sure I could keep my kool after the Classic concerns we've had.
