I've never seen stabilizers like this

My new to me 78 Argosy Minuet 6.0 came with these stabilizers. Was that the norm or were stabilizers an option and this is what someone came up with?

No, those are not a standard RV part.

Looks like the steel hardware used to build wood boat docks with at the lakeshore around here some years ago. Mostly aluminum now.
