In ceiling puck lighting
Was surprised to find out that these fixtures need to be replaced in their entirety, and you can't just replace the bulbs. Has anyone found a more cost effective replacement? These were 45.00 US for each.

Hi Masondood. Are you still under warranty? If so, your dealer should send replacements. We had several replaced under warranty on our 2015 EB. Best, Joe

The LED lights should last virtually forever. Why did yours need replacement in a 2016?

Thanks, we bought our never-used 2016 used in 2017. We just found out about the warranty yesterday and will have to transfer it. Apparently it costs 265.00 US to do that so the 90.00 we paid for the lights was less expensive at the time. We'll figure it out when we return from the shakedown cruise. The lights went out after driving over a particularly bad stretch of road in OK when we were bringing the AS home to Canada.

If it were me, I'd find some older halogen Airstream pucks and replace the bulbs with "Warm" LEDs. They are an eleven LED bulb that fits the Halogen puck. Those bulbs are available from Airstream Supplies, Colonial RV in NJ or other outlets. Once again, Airstream shows that they have nobody under 50 designing their trailers. The LEDs that Airstream put in are "Cool" LEDs. Here's the difference. "Warm" LEDs have more like an incandescent yellowish light and are rated as color temperature of 2700 (not heat) degrees or lower. "Cool" LEDs have a cold blue light that makes you look blue in the lips and puts out a light like a Walmart store. They are rated at 3000 degrees or above.

It boils down to personal preference

I have a pretty strong preference for a 3K LED color temperature. Anything cooler starts looking too florescent (too blue or green), and anything warmer looks funky, at least to me, in an LED. Warmer LEDs don't mimic Edisons' color temperature very well. I think the more important thing is to match color temperatures throughout. Mixed color temperatures look horrible.

I replaced all my LEDs with Warm 2700 so no mix. Each to their own with taste.

Thanks everyone. Found out the coach had never been registered so no issues with warranty in future. The ceiling pucks don't have removable "bulbs" so they can't be changed as suggested above. Found out that AS also has different temps for the various models/years so need to make sure they send the right ones for warranty replacements! 🤔

I googled LED puck lights recessed
And got pages and pages of results. Several looked identical or nearly so. Amazon not so good. Whether the lumens match or not, I didn't check. Prices $13 to $25.
Glad to see you will get yours on warranty.

"Warmer LEDs don't mimic Edisons' color temperature very well."
I've found that the Philips 3 watt LED halogen replacements--both their rectangular "capsules" and their bi-pin reflector spots--do a great job of imitating incandescent lights, at least to my 67-year-old eyes. To me they are literally indistinguishable from halogens. I deployed them throughout my previous RV, and will be adding them to my new Airstream as soon as I find the time. Like others here, I strongly dislike the cold white LEDs that Airstream installed.

homey AS now
I read the thread in here a few weeks ago about using orange stage lighting film. Ordered the film, cut a bunch of circles. I even put them in the plastic rectangle lights above sink and bathroom and the reading lights above bed & sofa.
(reading lights took a double layer of film since they are so bright)
Now my 2016 FC 28' looks like a cozy home.
Two thumbs up for the recommendation.
Never liked the "blue" light effect that the AS had.

Glad to hear you liked the results! I used a triple layer in the bedroom and a double everywhere else, and also did the plastic light fixtures too.
Question: How did you get into the bedroom reading lights? I tried pulling on the top piece that holds the lens, which is obviously a separate part that looks like it should pull off...but couldn't budge it and was afraid of breaking it. Any tips?

In my case they are a pressure fitting that popped out with a very small screwdriver. The fit is very tight. I did find replacements on Amazon for 30 CAN. The us site wanted 33 USD....go figure
