Question in case something needs to be fixed right now...

My husband is on his way to Florida right now to pick up our new 1977 Sovereign Airstream. He asked me to post to ask for suggestions of 'just in case' places along the way in the event he needs something fixed out on the road. Specifically any RV repair places in Orlando, FL (along 75), then anything out on I-10.

Thank you!

Janie,
Airstream dealer Sanders RV is just off I-75 between Gainesville and Alachua FL. They have an excellent service and parts dept. That is about 100 miles north of Orlando. Bates RV is another Airstream dealer on I-4 about 50 miles east of Orlando. but would be out of the way home. There are a lot of SOB dealers in Orlando but I have not been to one.
Safe travels on getting your new AS home. PM me if he needs anything around Gainesville.
Joe

I don't know the route he is taking, but if he ends up near Savannah Ga, or Richmond Hill, GA, on I-95, Campers World is great.

janie glad yall got one. But please tell us why you went that far to get that particular one?

If I recall you are the driving force behind this deal, so why'd you stay at home?

Tell him to make sure the entry door is taped and secured shut. And that all hatches doors including water heater door are secured with tape if necessary. Get the tape off as soon as you get it home in this heat. Also that the Air Conditioner shroud is secured even if it has to be tied down.
Also check the gas bottles for tie down security. Inside secure the refer door and any drawers, shower doors etc. Don't tape the wood.

All those things are hell to replace from both cost and availability standpoints.

Is it a rear bath?
Stop at every rest stop to check tire pressure and heat (bearings).
Do yall belong to AAA or similar? In case you need a wrecker? Will he have spare tire for trailer?
Best of luck and let us know how it turns out.

dd
