If you think it is bad, it is probably worse
I'm taking a break for lunch. Today's projects include installing the water heater, replacing the front plastic banana wraps, repairing the aluminum wraps behind them, doing prep work on the tongue and rear frame areas for painting tomorrow, and analyzing the degree of urgency in repairing or replacing the stuff I am discovering in the process.
I have come to the conclusion that no matter how bad you think the coach is when you buy it, it is actually far, far worse.

Mark;
I also took a lunch break. You are right on !!! there is more than I ever imagined requiring some level of repair on my A/S. I found out real quick there is nothing on an A/S that can't be fixed, IF you have the time and MONEY
Fixed the AC this morning. hope to have some time to do some inside repair later today started raining so no polishing, for now...

You guys are scaring me. I'm looking at buying a 'project' to work on, a 64 Safari. We might go look at it this weekend. It's someone elses project that they've given up on. I think with time and persistance I can make a go of it (plus I already have a good AS to camp in, which takes the pressure off). I'd really like to do a custom interior, and I'm hoping this one will be in good shape mechanically so I can focus on that. It's already gutted except for the galley and bathroom, which is good, because I don't want to have to rebuild those and hunt for impossible to find parts if I can help it. So what kinds of nightmares are you guys running into?

This inside our Airstream is in our garage!So far in the last week I have spent $750 just for materials to replace the floor. I still have $200-250 in materials to buy. I may also need to buy a couple tools like a metal break to make new U-Track. Then wee will move on to new wiriing, fusebox, charger, ....the list goes on a few grand more LOL.

Stephanie,
No nightmares. Not at all. Just the usual sort of stuff. Today, for example, I discovered that the streetside lower front quarter panel will have to be replaced. I've started to get used to such surprises.

I resemble that..........I’ve noticed that that when I work on something there always seem to be something un-expected pop up. There are things that have a way of finding me.
Stephanie, don’t let it bother you. If it’s a project you enjoy it’s a hobby. With a hobby you can always quit for a while. If you have a bad day then you can sleep on it, it will always work out better the next day.
