I was given a '66 Overlander International

Of course there is some floor rot, probably a four foot section in the rear, a small area by the door and under the street side window. The trailer was partially gutted/ there is no bathroom and all of the access panels have been sealed.
Basically a shell with some water damage and one missing glass. I haven't had a look at the frame yet to see how far the rot has spread. My question is,where do I start and how much water damage is too much?

You may get more suggestions if you submit some photos for people to comment on.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum. Your new trailer is a great size and year, worth restoring for anyone who can handle the time and/or money commitment.

Your reports of floor rot are a concern. The floor is part of the structure of the trailer, bonded on the edges to the frame and trailer walls. It has to be solid along the edges or the trailer will rattle itself apart while driving.

Pictures are a great idea and you'll find a gold mine of information by searching this site. I'd recommend starting here.

There is also a subform for '66 Overlanders here. If you get serious about your restoration, starting a thread in that subforum will get good, relevant replies.

Floor rot may be just the beginning, you will want to check the frame for rust before you get too far into it.

I was lucky on my overlander just a little floor rot by the door and no frame rust ( don't ya just love trailers from the northwest )
Anything is worth restoring if ya have enough money, time and the correct tools actually my wife and I are really enjoying our renovation but then again it's not for the faint hearted .

Probably going to need a shell off. Frame is rusty, most of the bolts connecting the wood to frame are rusted. Rot is 80% of the perimeter of the shell. I've researched a little and it seems pretty straight forward. support the shell, disconnect from deck and jack up. Is there a certain thread that I should check out?

Thanks
