How to Open a can of Acryl-R

When I bought my first can of Acryl-R from JC, I bought the applicator gun and Acryl-R can assembled and ready to use. Now a few years later I have used the first can. I thought transferring the applicator gun to the new can would be as simple as unscrewing it, and inserting the applicator gun into the new can. Almost. But there is one more step that I did not anticipate and it has me stopped. The new can of Acryl-R is sealed, and it says helpfully enough “CUT THIS OUT”. That is straightforward enough to understand what is needed, but I need some help on the how. The new can seal is not anything that can be pried off. I made an attempt to use the can opener on my Swiss army knife, but the Acryl-R can is not like a tin can and it did not yield. You can see where I tried that above the C in Cut.

Is there anyone on the Forums who has opened a can of Acryl-R, and would be willing to share how you did it? Any tips on a tool to use would be most helpful before I go an hurt myself!

Could you hammer a big nail in it and pry the lid off? Or a sharp pointy screwdriver?

Punch a screw driver through it and pry the lid up.
