Please help me! I have a 2005 28’ CCD International and one of the latches on the rear compartment door is having issues. I guess the screw isn’t holding like it did and it won’t stay together. I contacted the Airstream factory in Ohio and spoke with the service department about getting a replacement latch and supposedly it has been discontinued and is being replace with a much smaller one that would leave a big gap. (Am I making sense?) Here are some pictures that may help........ As it is I am only able to lock one side and am worried that I might start having problems with that one soon!
Is the assembly turning on the door? Or is the phillips head screw just loosening so the latch arm swings free/
What I had to do to our locks...
Remove the assembly Clean & make sure the lock ring on the back side is tight when you re-install. Use a star washer and Loctite on the threads.
I did have one lock on our battery box that required a bit of 3m 5200 under the front side to keep it from turning.
Good luck 👍

Thank you Bob! The screw becomes loose and the latch arm swings free. I will try the star washer and locktite. Thanks again!
