Handle broken off of black water waste gate

A tire delaminated on us and blew out resulting in the the tire section breaking off the handle of the black water waste valve. Others and I have looked and tried to pull the rod with pliers but don't see it.

Of course our black water tank is at 25%, any suggestions on how we can dump the tank so the gate can be replaced?

Cut/grind part of the body back away from the rod and grab it with vise grips.

Turned out that as the tire tread broke the hande it opened the valve gate, which is why I couldn't find the rod. Hard part was dumping the black water tank, cousin said, go to the back 40 open it up and keep driving. Fixed and ready to go.
