Group for 3D printing people?
When we had the Sprinter I did a reasonable amount of 3D printing and shared on that forum.
I have a first pass at a pantry clip but my tester had problems. They might have multiple lots or vendors for the wire brackets. Too early to know.
Went to remove the Valterra for the tanks and it was impossible with my old fingers. Right now I'm designing and test printing a simple tool to make it easy to remove as my new Camco sewer wrenches won't work. I'll need a tester local to Englewood, Fl who has Valterra like mine (2023 International 23FBT) because it's much larger than my little pantry clips. Anyone from Venice, North Port, Punta Gorda, etc?
Were still learning our Airstream and waiting for our F150 max tow guy that's shipped but not here.
Any admins would can provide some insight into this?

I spend far too much delightful time designing, redesigning, then tweaking the redesigns over and over again for 3D printing.
Base of the dehumidifier indenting the floor? Design and print some feet.
Too much junk on the bathroom counter? Toothbrush holder and irrigator nozzle holder that fits on the ledge.
No-flow HVAC registers. Design, print, etc, etc, ad nauseam.
On and on…

Valterra
This is proto #1 for the Valterra. The "gripper" part is too shallow for final but good enough for testing. The "cover" is now glued on with 2 part epoxy.
After looking at the 13mm (~1/2") square I think I'm going to leave that for a socket extension but change the square to 2 round pegs at the edges so just about anything (longer screwdriver, piece of wood, aluminum angle, etc.) can be used to take the cover off. I've also added 2mm of PETG to the outside of the gripper so that I'll have a much larger surface for gluing and won't have to worry about anything dripping into the grip area.
Thoughts?

Old thread, but I've designed and printed quite a few things for our '75 Argosy already. Porch light insert for LED puck, new tail light buckets, new ceiling light inserts for LED pucks, new overhead compartment latches, rear camera mount, etc.

Busy busy
I'm been very busy with a major redo of the house and a few other things. Finally getting everything ready to go to sell to an AS dealer. URL is:
https://www.gammel.com/airstream.html
Doesn't have everything yet but I'll get there.
Maybe most forum users don't understand how helpful 3D printing can be. I do Corvette parts as GM and the other suppliers aren't making some parts.

Be very careful with the 2 pin cap. If your cable falls, hanging down, with the cap on, and it rains, the cap will fill up with water and the contacts will sit in a pool of water, causing them to rapidly corrode. That little cap fills up like a water cup.
Don't ask me how I found this out. Best practice is for the plug to hang down, contacts pointing down. They won't fill up with water, and if they get moist, plenty of air to dry out rapidly. I now just drape mine over the tongue jack and then cover the jack assembly with a camco waterproof jack cover.

7 Pin. 2 pin was typo.
I don't see where this forum gives the option to edit my own posts...

I was given a 3D printer for Christmas and am wondering what modeling programs others are using. I’m using Blender and find the learning curve quite steep, but fun. Our foot stool pads deteriorated and here is my latest effort to replace them.
I think it would be great to have a 3D printer sub-forum.

I use Fusion 360 (and have used OpenSCAD in the past but not in a few years). Free personal license, it's professional software, a learning curve but tons of resources to learn from and extremely powerful.

What material did you use for the pads? TPU is what I would use I think but design them with some crush/give so they conform a bit to the terrain.

Jum,
I did use TPU for its rubber like consistency and UV tollerance. I made the bottom flat, but version #1001 will implement your suggestion. I did put a little square piece of aluminum inside so that the stool foot would not punch through the TPU.

Tpu
I use TPU for the 7-way plug. Compared to PETG which is almost 100% of my printing it's weird. Have a plain version and then one with a clip.
Right now I'm learning OpenScad because I've taken TinkerCad about as far as I can.

To me now after 8+ years of designing/printing, it's just a tool to me now rather than a curiosity or cool thing or hobby. I pretty much only do functional stuff and getting the Argosy 2 months ago showed me a ton of opportunities to build parts that are needed.
My porch light insert I probably made 10 iterations of to get the LED positioned just right to not spread light too far out and light up the step/doorway well. I added an elliptical flood lens which made it even better. Pic attached though I'm not sure it's from the final iteration. When you open the door, the step/doorway are lit very well.

Here is a custom accessory port that replaces the Zamp. It is made from Carbon Fiber ASA. I agree a 3D print sub forum where we can share design and stl files would be great!

Printing
I mostly do functional parts as well although I'm doing some birthday presents for my cousin who turns 80 this year.
Even something as simple as upside down U is helpful. Ensures contents doesn't spill out while driving and can keep the bathroom door open.
I did contact a moderator and asked if we can have a 3D printing group.

Table flange
I made this table flange to reduce the wobble on a Globetrotter dinette. I have a couple versions for various table legs that I've made for different trailers. It'd be nice to have a sub forum for 3d parts, as well as a good way to share them. I use Fusion 360 for the modeling.
