I just want to post a shout out to Vintage Airstream Restoration and Repair in Heber City, Utah. After a mishap with my 2008 Safari in northern Utah, I looked on the web for the closest Airstream repair shop. I was lucky to only be about 100 miles away from VARR. I called ahead and spoke to Gene, the owner. He was a pleasure to talk to and said to bring my trailer in for a look over.
After a good look over by his crew, he gave me an idea that this was no easy repair. I had backed into a cut off tree root on my blind side and put a dent in the seam between the upper and lower panels, plus under belly damage. In other words, I really messed my trailer up good.
The next call was to State Farm and within two weeks I had a check for the full amount of the repair, minus deductible. I was not only surprised but GREATLY relieved.
Over the next several weeks, Gene's crew went to work in removing the upper and lower side panels, windows and under belly pan. Plus repairing the broken gas line. It was no easy job but they did an amazing job in making "Tater" look new again.
Once the work started, I was sent pictures of the progress every couple of days. I knew exactly what they replaced and knew exactly when they would be done.
When I picked up the trailer a couple of months later, it really looked better than new!! The even did a couple of upgrades on the repairs to make the trailer even better. To say the least, I was very pleased.
So the bottom line is if you are looking for a vintage trailer or want a renovation completed by a top notch crew, call my friend Gene at VARR.
