Does anyone know where I can get the Suburban furnace repaired out of my '76? I'm just outside Kingston NY. About 100mi. North of NY City, on the Hudson River.

You're NOT going top like this, but a 38 year old furnace should be SCRAPPED AND NOT REPAIRED !! It really doesn't matter what type of repair is needed. Old furnaces have a very high potential to either leak LP or carbon monoxide into the trailer due to internal corrosion and/or parts break downs.

This is exactly what I would tell to a potential customer in the same situation. I would be very surprised if you can even find anyone who wants to accept the responsibility (read LIABILITY) of working on a furnace that old.

Sorry, but that is my professional opinion..... Just what DO you consider your life worth???

The furnace on out '83 needed repair. When I started into it I came across a bunch of rusted screws and other parts. I figured the rest of the unit could not be far behind so got a new one. Works great with no worries.

Thanks for your comments. I purchased the furnace new 4 years ago and have had it repaired three times. I use the 31' as a woodshop and apparently the wood dust fouls things up. When I get this fixed I'll put it in the 21' which has no furnace in it now.

AHHHHH! The plot thickens!!

That is a completely different scenario! Yes. the wood dust coming back thru the intake will definitely lodge in the blower cage and foul up the works. You might consider using a pre-filter Like those used on residential air conditioner systems on the intake plenum after you have it cleaned and repaired and change it often.
