Front Panel Skin Cracking

At our recent Rally, a couple of members mentioned cracks in the skin in the front panel behind the propane tanks. They said the storage door frame in this panel stresses the skin and then it cracks. It begins with a "dimple" at the lower corners of the storage door and then the crack appears in the dimple area. The storage door frame itself has cracked on some units. My 2019 27' Globetrotter has such dimples at both lower corners of this storage door. Has anyone had experience with this ??

You should still be under warranty, what does your dealer or JC say about this?

I haven't talked to them yet. Just seeing if this a potential problem for me. I believe that I saw you had a problem with your bathroom door handle ?? We have the exact same problem. I will be in touch with the factory for a new handle.

Mine has a dimple, but it is where the rivet is located. So far, no cracks after almost 4 years.

We are talking about that on our 2020 right now. We sent pictures to Jackson Center, they confirmed what it was (at this point we have small creases) and was urged to get it in to have the front hold downs redone. Check out the thread. Sounds like yours has progressed.

Oh yeah, we are three years into our classic full time living. A few things have needed repair but living in it full time, It’s all maintenance as far as I’m concerned. Would have spent much more on a house.

Door knob is easy to replace on your own with a basic screw driver as well. We got used to turning the handle up to open it which I believe is recommended in general and we still turn it up instead of pushing down.

Sounds like the beginnings of front end separation. Especially of JC mentioned the hold downs needing redone. I'd ask for a hold down plate like they did in the old days.
