Front Hatch Gasket

New to this, so thanks for the help.

This seal/gasket on my '20 Globetrotter 23 FB keeps popping off, creating very sharp edges. Wondering if I need to screw/rivet this together somehow. Wondering how this is held together on similar models.

Thanks in advance.

As you have discovered, the design cuts a corner here and it's common for the aluminum sheets to have some separation causing the seal to come off. The best solution is to rivet the sheets together where they are separated, and use some polyurethane sealant adhesive ( the flexible kind) to secure the seal in a couple spots.

Too close this out in case someone else searches and wants to see the followup, here is the pic after riveting the unfinished, loose aluminum sections together as suggested.

For others who plan to do the same thing, what I had to do was:
1. Drill from inside the cabinet outwards since my ProPride hitch leveling jacks preclude opening the door fully.
2. Rivet the same direction.

Caution: locate the hole for the rivet down far enough for the seal when replaced to sit above the rivet. Had to replace one before I considered this...

Looks so much nicer! Why they don't do that from the beginning is a mystery.
