Good you got it replaced, hopefully w/o exceeding the bandaid flat rate on this job.
Folks, I've replaced mine and one other rigs shur flo water inlet regulator assy. Both times there was a wait for parts and the second was an in camp situation and they tried to keep happy by filling the tank.
OK how about a temporary fix while waiting for the Amazon drone to drop off the new one? Fix applies to a pex piped connection, has a swivel grommet seal to inlet regulator. This will replicate the mechanical pipe connections w/o regulator.
I kept the old one and a trip to the hardware store and with only two pieces from the pluming dept you can rig up a temp connection. Adding a regulator is easy add it inline.
So here's the two pieces I'm adding to my tool box.
1/2" X 3" give or take pipe nipple, plastic is my first choice, cheap. Length is your decision.
1/2" FPT X female garden hose, it has a swivel connection for hose.
A bit of pipe compound on one end of pipe thread into pipe connection on garden hose adapter, snug it up. Now thread it onto the existing pex swivel connection. Secure hose connection so not to strain pex etc. Turn water on and treat yourself to a cold one.
When the drone drops off the new regulator assy, get out tools and that last bandaid at least on a classic and have at it.
