floor rot by right side of door

I have floor rot by right side of door. I have a 1974 28 foot international. My question is, is the floor 1 inch thick and do you think i should use treated plywood? Can i just replace it between the joists or struts or what ever you call them and cut out towards the center of the trailer about half way. will that be a allowable fix? Thank you in advance

I would not use treated wood. The salts will eat up any metal. The original floor is 3/4". If the area is relatively small. Cut out the rot far enough to get into good wood on the old floor. Then cut some 3" wide strips of plywood, slip them under the edge of the opening where they provide a support for your patch, glue and screw the strips to the old floor then insert your patch to cover the hole. The patch will rest on the strips you installed, then just attach it with screws.
The chances are good that part of your patch will rest on the outrigger for the steps if the rotted area is where I think it is.

And be sure you have fixed the leak causing the rot or you will get to do it again

Thanku for the information, the damage is under the wall. do i have to pull the inside skin to get the rotted section out. I guess i dont exactly know what i will find or how it is put together and if i take the wood out from under the c-channel will the wall sag? I could only glean so much from the forum.

the amount of dissasembly can vary depending on the year/model. if you could post more info some more experienced members might be able to chime in with suggestions.
