Fixing small scratches

First of all, I'm not OCD about cosmetic blemishes on my AS. Just annoyed at my clumsiness. I was putting my power cable in the storage compartment and the 50 Amp plug brushed up against the side and dug two small scratches thru the coating of my GT. They are about an inch long and almost invisible unless you look in just the right light.

I thought I'd try a couple of things to make them less visible. First, I used masking tape to cover the surface around the scratches with maybe a 1/16th of an inch around them exposed. I used some auto polishing compound to try to rub it out. No difference. I then tried to wax the area, but nothing. Lastly, I took some clear nail polish and just applied it to a very small portion to try to fill the scratch in. Did not look good and I was able to remove it with a bit of acetone.

My gut is leave bad enough alone and not make them worse, but I was wondering if anyone else has had success doing this?

I’ve had success with small scratches using an automotive orbital buffer/polisher and various polishing compounds. I already owned one for my cars, so I figured I’d give it a try.

I was installing a new display monitor inside the galley between the stove and the sink and scratched the wall with a sharp drill bit. The scratch is about two inches long and deep. Ugh! Any suggestions as to how to fix this scratch?
Thank you.
