First year warantee repair- Ottawa area

Hello:

We have a number of issues with our sport 22FB trailer.
It is less than one month old.

We sent AS a list of issues. They told us to go back to our dealer.
The dealer we bought the trailer from is a 7 hours drive away.
the next closet dealer is 2.5 hour drive away.

They told us we can use one from this list
https://gorving.ca/locator/repair/re...ities-ontario/

As none are a AS dealer, we would have to pay for repair and then AS would reimburse us afterwords.
Has anyone done this with AS ?
Is they any issue or hassle from AS?

does anyone have any experience with any of these local Ottawa service locations W.r.t. their AS trailer

Maybe try Travel-mor. I've used them and as most everything inside the trailer is standard rv equipment they can probably deal with it. As to how responsive go RVing is I can't say.

I've used Ottawa Camping Trailers. They've been in the RV business for many years (I once bought a used SOB from them back in 1989). They did urgent repairs on my '94 Land Yacht and on my '87 Excella - all satisfactory. For my regular maintenance I go to JC.

ottawa camping have a great reputation

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the new rig. I don't know what kind of issues you are having so it is tough to rec any other dealers for the repairs. RV Canada are an A/S dealer so you may want to start there. I would call Andy at Can Am to see what he thinks of them. I take it from the 7 hour drive that you bought it from Can Am. I would get him involved and would be reluctant to let just anyone else work on it.
Bets of luck
Pete

Pete, RVCanada will defacto refuse to do any warranty work on an AS purchased from another dealer, particularly if bought from Can-Am.

I didn't know that. I was there last month and ordered a Dometic refer door latch. They had new AS's in the showroom. The AS website no longer lists them.

I realize it is a long drive to CAN AM in London
But that is where I would suggest you take it

X 2 for taking it to Can-Am. IMHO Its worth the drive. Some folks bring their rigs from all over North America.

RV Canada

I Stopped in at RV Canada today to look for some camp chairs and was told that they are no longer selling A/S. The reason given was that they are too expensive at three time the cost per foot of a standard trailer. They just couldn't learn to sell 'value vs price'! They also said that they could not make any money doing warranty repairs. It seems as though that is a huge profit center with the 'standard trailers". Wow what does that say!!!!
We didn't but the chairs there either.................

Pete -> That may be RVCanada's story; I'd like to hear what JC's side is.

BTW, would you be the Pete that my departed friend Ross C. spoke about?

Hi,
This is actually our first post, and happy to be part of this great family!
We live in Ottawa and also own a 2016 22 ft sport.
Last summer we also needed some warranty work on our AS and the dealer RV Canada did not want to honor the warranty because we purchased it in Detroit. We were very disappointed at the time. The only reason I would bring my airstream back to a dealer would be because it's under warranty or because of an issue beyond my skill level.
We did a vacation trip to Jackson Centre Ohio and we had all our concerns taken of. We had a great time and met wonderful people.

Did you buy your trailer at CanAm? They have always looked after us as we bought there.
