All right its my Advocacy speaking - after reading all the posts, even though both companies AS and Fiamma pointed at each other, it is mainly Fiamma to be blamed for choosing the type of metal IF AS did not specify which metal to use.

We can all talk, and talk, venting out but why not blast out emails to Fianna and write a real negative review un Fianna website and Google, Yelp etc etc. I am positive sure that Fianna does watch any reviews people have on the company. Many companies do read reviews but does Fiamma? Do it anyway and Fiamma may decide to improve just 2 wee parts.

built our own bike rack

Couldn't find a good trike rack so we built our own. 1400 miles on it so far and 25 of those were forest roads in medicine bow that were pretty darn rough. I do not shift into 4low very often....

i have received the pro pride SS bracket

it looks like horizontal mount is the preferred solution

would 2 nylon washers mounted on either side of the arm and the inside of the brackets help to reduce friction and binding?

It might, but the real problem was due to bending stress which ultimately caused the bracket to fail.

If Pro Pride developed a stainless steel replacement, it is likely that the stainless steel is strong enough to handle the stress. Good idea, and I see they get a premium price for their brackets.

I lost one too. Were you able to find a source to replace the knobs? Now I keep them tight even when not in use.

I put two mountain bikes and a BMX bike inside my 16' Bambi and covered them with exercise mat. I never had any problems. I don't see a problem if you put bikes inside any Airstream trailers.
