Fiamma Bike Rack

Has anyone successfully installed the Fiamma bike rack yourself. Do you like it? Local dealership wants $495 for the rack, $730 installed.

It looks neat. Looking for real world experience.

We bought one, and I installed it in about 2 hours.

If one is capable of putting together one of the larger home entertainment centers out of a box, he is probably able to complete this.

The installation does require drilling a few holes both in the frame and in the skins on the back of the trailer.

The rack travels well, and is easy to load bikes onto.

Regards,

JD

I paid to have mine installed and just got a safety recall yesterday. I got two stickers, one for window, one for rack indicating that if my back window is my only egress then the bikes need to be removed from rack while inside. Given my Airstream model, that's me. There is a good possibility I would get stuck in that window before I would ever run into the bike isse.

Here's a link on how to install that bike rack (19 minutes long). It was a great help to me when I installed the bike rack. It took me a few hours. I'm sure I could do it again in half the time. If you end up doing it yourself, PM me. There is one aspect they don't cover in the video. Also, do a search on AirForums for this Fiamma bike rack. There is a lot of material. Russ

We traveled for years with a similar Fiamma rack on our VW camper and it keep the bikes firmly in place and was easy to use. So we bought the Airstream model and it the same.
Probably the best made for its purpose.
