Inspect the front of the AS. It could be caused by constant slamming of the door, or stiff weight distribution bars behind a vehicle with stiff suspension. Look for creases up front, if there are no creases...then I would probably run with the slamming door theory.

Body splitting? Do you mean splitting at a 45 degree angle from the upper forward corner of the the door frame on the outside? If so, there are a lot of other aluminum trailers that have done done that and it is caused by the shell flexing when going over irregular surfaces, thust wisting the shell. Because it will happen again if you replace the skin, I would make a neat doubler patch and got from there. You could also have a cracked frame. There are a lot of. trailer out there with unknown frame cracks. Airstream may already have fix for that. I would call them and see what they recommend. I have popped a rivet there, but the replacement has held.

This looks like the front of the trailer next to the rock guard and above the trailer frame. Is that the correct location?

If my previous post is correct, I have some input for you. If not, I don't.

This looks like the front end separation. I had a crack repaired at at the factory last year. Would have to remove the front panel and replace it. Is the front trim band loose also?

This can be repaired as good as new. My understanding is this could be an issue on any 30 fbb. They can weld additional tabs to the frame when the front panel is replaced. I would get a quote on the repair before considering purchase.

Hi

This is not something I would ignore. You either repair it or you don't buy the trailer. It's not going to be a cheap fix, but it also is not an impossible thing to do. Like any frame related issue, you really will not know how extensive / expensive it is until it's all back together.

With cracks both above and below the door, you will have some work to do .....

Can only see 1 photo the others are not displaying. Are there any wrinkles in the surrounding panels?

That looks like a stress crack which has happened to me on my first trailer. Turns out my F350 suspension and 1200# bars equalizer bars were way too stiff for the trailer, a 27 FB. The too stiff system was beating the trailer to death. I changed to 600# bars and life was better for the trailer.

So what is your tow vehicle and the rating and brand of your WD system?

Front end separation

I had this problem. Front end separation. I think it is pretty common with the trailers with front storage box. The front of the trailer is not attached good enough to the frame. I had Colin Hyde in NY fix mine. They go in and weld additional attachments. Quite a bit of work but it seems to have fixed it. Mine started with a crack on one side and then the other and finally rivets around the storage box started popping off. I want to say the fix was about $2400. I would say a patch will not fix it.
