Fantastic Fan 2018 Classic

Just picked up our new Classic and the fan is not working. Doesn’t seem to be communicating w the Firefly and there’s not a manual option. Has anyone experienced this or know the fix?

If your 2018 is covered by warranty, bring it to the attention of your dealer!

Haven't had this problem but there are couple of things you could check.

Find the fuse holder on the Fantastic Fan frame. If the fuse is blown or missing the cover over the fan will rise but the fan itself won't run.

Also, is the Firefly control for the Fantastic fan in manual or automatic mode? It should run in manual mode when you press the "on/off" touch control regardless of the interior temperature but if the automatic mode indicator is lit you will have to press that control again to see what temperature it's set at. If the temp is set higher than the current interior temperature, the fan won't come on.

We replaced all the Fantastic fans in our two Airstream with Maxxfan 7000 series. They were not “fantastic” for us. The Maxxfans have a built in rain shield, are bi-directional, have ten speeds and a remote control. They are available with either a white or dark external cover.

We had the same problem with our 18 Classic. The dealer had to replace a Firefy module, which had to be ordered through the factory. Crazy that Airstream didn’t install a fan that could be controlled manually.
