New to Airstream, so new I am still in negotiations with the dealership.
Buying a (used) 2019 27’ Globetrotter. I think I have negotiated a good price now...

Should I buy the extended warranty offered by (Airstream) the dealership?

No...Put the money aside and spend it on all the "good stuff" you WILL need after the first several trips.

Pass. Comes with a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty through airstream. You’ll get everything worked out in that time. We did in 3 years. This baby is dialed in, usually the extended warranty will not cover the things that you would want them to and the manufacturers some times have warranty on items beyond airstreams 3 years.

The factory warranty is transferrable BUT it does not cover the appliances according to a fellow forum poster, GettinAway.

He purchased a "used" 2020 GT that never left the dealer's lot (owner backed out of the deal for a 27' FC with rear hatch). On their way home the fridge wouldn't start and they called Jackson Center but was told "sorry, but they can't help because the three year warranty only applies to the original owner for appliances ".

How much do they want for the extended warranty and is it from Airstream or a third party? You can either bank the cash and roll the dice or offer them half and negotiate from there.

By the way, someone on the forum said to press the reset button which cleared the error and the fridge started. Read the thread here (post #7): https://www.airforums.com/forums/f42...ml#post2331538

Airstream btw do not underwrite / provide extended warrantees - it’s always a 3rd party.

What is a good price? In this climate you should get 22-25% discount on msrp.

Very true. You can even get better than that if you push a little..... ask me how I know....
