Excella Pantry Problem

My pantry slides failed while driving across Iindiana on the interstate. I now need to fix the pantry and replace the ball bearing slides. I cannot find the release on the slides so I can remove the pantry. Mine are fastened with screws and donot appear to have a release. Any advice on how to remove the pantry. I have a 1992 excella 24 with a 8" pantry. I think I am going to cut it in half and have two slides instead of the one.

Well if slides failed, do what you can to remove without concern of salvage to slides. Once out you will see it is fairly easy to replace slides with new and probably stronger slides.

I bought glides from ODM. They did not stock them but ordered them for me. If I remember correctly, they were $35+/-per pair, two years ago.

Slide the pantry out. Then put some kind of brace tight beneath it and have someone balance it while you remove the screws. Set the cabinet out of the way. Remove the rest of the screws holding the old glides inside the cabinet. Install the new glides and cabinet in reverse order.

on my 94 there was a plastic 'plate' in the center/bottom under the drawer. there is a plastic tab/stop that when pushed in, lets the drawer continue to slide out.
