Easy-Start Install kit

When I bought my EasyStart 364, I didn't know there was such a thing as an installation kit. Now that I know better, it's $10.89 for the kit + over $18 to ship it. Umm, I don't think so.

Can someone tell me what's in the install kit? I think I can roll my own.

There's been posts and threads for months on Easy Start and this is the first mention of an extra kit...are you sure it is needed?

You might send a pm to Micro-Air and ask him to chime in on this thread.

If it includes a scaffolding and platform so I don't have to set foot on the AS roof, it's worth every penny.
I'll even take one of those cables like Tom Cruz used in Mission Impossible 3, where he hung over the alarm system.

Actually it's been mentioned several times. It's not needed at all. It's just several connectors proper gauge extra wire a weatherproof grommet for running wires through maybe something else I'm forgetting.
It was put together to be helpful in installing in a Penguin 2. It's just meant to save you from running around and tracking down the items. I don't think there was much intention of profit. Shipping is beyond there control.

Okay, I stand corrected....it doesn't seem to have been a big issue, then.

There MUST be a zip-tie in the (or any) install kit!

No trouble. I can't seem to find anything after it disappears from the main page. I think this place has just a few too many sub forums, but that's a subject for another thread.

Two actually. Plus some thingamagig that has stick tape used to hold wires in place.

I bought the kit and then did not use a thing in it when I did the installation. If you already have a crimp tool and some connectors you may have what you need. If not, a trip to the hardware store will fix you up. Nothing wrong with the kit, but mine was an older AC and I had to do it a little differently.
I was able to do it without actually getting on the roof. I worked from a ladder on each side.

Thanks all. I've got the crimping tool, heat shrink connectors, grommets, etc. I think I'll just use my stuff.

Very helpful comments. Thanks again.

Print out the directions for the Penguin 2 on microairs website. They are dead on and will save some trial and error work.
