Easy start heat pump

I have a 2020 16 foot Caravell. The a.c works great with the Micro Air easy start. Is it ok to run the heat pump on 15 amp service?
The previous 16 foot sport I had only had a heat strip built in the 13500 btu a/c. That could not be ran on 15 amps. I can’t figure out if this unit is a real heat pump or just a heat strip.

It is a real heat pump. You should be fine running on 15amp. Just don't turn anything else on

You should get a little voltmeter to plug in. That will tell you if the unit is drawing too much current. My EMS reads both voltage and amperage. One of those units will tell you when you are drawing too much for the circuit. You are probably plugged in to a fixed base and have the batteries fully charged. If they run down then the converter draws a lot of amperage too.

Looking at the parts manual confirms you have a 13,500BTU Dometic Penguin II Heat Pump. With Soft Start, there is a fair to good chance you can get by on 15A service, but when it starts nothing else can be drawing power, think refrigerator and hot water especially. Inrush may be as high as 18Amp so there is a chance it will trip a 15A breaker especially with a long and/or thin extension cord.

edit: Ooops Im a bit late to respond others beat me to it!

our 2020 FC 27FBT, with optional 2nd AC/HP, did not come with soft start units. We had our dealer install them before we took deliver.
