Ducted Air - Covers Restrict Airflow

Anyone have a solution to address the restricted airflow caused by the vent covers? When we remove the vent covers the air conditioner adequately cools the interior.

I’m considering drilling holes into the plastic part of the vent covers to enable more airflow. But if anyone has a better solution I would like to replicate that effective solution.Click image for larger version

Mine work OK if I'm careful about how the vent registers are adjusted. They're SUPER fiddly, because adjusting their direction also often changes how open or closed they are. Once you point them, you often have to readjust the open/close lever.

Ditto, discovered after redirecting the outer directional vent the inner open/ close vent had closed. Check to see if that is happening, the open/close moves way too easily.

I would love it if Airstream would make a stainless replacement with adjustable louvers. Do you suppose one could ask?

If you want to spend the money why not try a HVAC dealer. They could probably make you one. Dave

Ducted Air - Covers Restrict Airflow

I have same question. Have not found replacements. Sent Airstream customer service a couple of emails with zero response.

My thread has link to another thread with a possible solution.

Do post here if you find something better!
