Door panels on Dometic Fridge

I have a 2014 International Serenity 28. I would like to swap the aluminum door panels for the same gauge steel ones so we can use magnets. Has anyone done this? Any issues?

Rob on the 23D thread did something similar. He took a piece of the Asian Sand laminate and used it instead. I know he used a wooden backer on the laminate. You could use a piece of 20 or 22 gauge sheet metal to back yours and then the fridge would match the inside trim and magnets would also stick.
