Cool Door flange install

Hi there, I bought a 1952 cruiser and it has been sitting in my yard for two years. We are completely overwhelmed with the project but I am going to try to redo the door flange as a starting place. Here is the trailer I bought:

I bought this flange from VTS
https://vintagetrailersupply.com/riv...reams-vts-136/

The way I read the description I am suppose to put the flange over the double metal door part and rivet thru it? It seems to make more sense to rivet the door pieces together and then glue the flange over it. Does anyone know what I am talking about or have a picture of this door flange installed? Thanks, Shannon in VT
