Domestic frig won't stay cool

This is our 7 trip out and we have had a 3 week journey prior. Our FC is 25 FB 2015. When we had weather in the 60s the frig would stay at 43/47 at the coldest setting. We were in shade and had full awning open. At night it may get into high 30 s. Our last trips with weather in the 70-80 even in shade the frig stays in the range of 53-57. We have not filled the frig and actually have very little in it. As a precaution I put our two meat meals in the freezer. Which is colder but not freezing. How does one discuss this with JC or our service? We had it at 33 then drove hour to the campground. The frig was 60 upon arrival. Any thoughts or ideas????
Thanks

Clean gas orifice, burner tube, and check propane supply pressure.... I had same problem recently only on gas. My propane pressure was too low. I had to adjust my regulator.

It would help to know the model number. Does it have a temp selector (say 1 - 5) on the front panel? Does it have a thermistor on the fins that you can slide UP for colder temps and down for warmer? If it doesn't have the temp selector switch and does have a thermistor you could try one of these devices. Of course yours may still be under warranty and you may want to go that route.

It is model RM3762RBX. Nothing inside adjusts. Solid find. We are careful to be level. On auto. Do have gas on and actually had it on for the 1 hour drive. Hope that helps

Something is wrong. My Dometic 2012 keeps ice frozen whether I am driving and it's on propane or in the campground on shore power. And it is 14 years old. That said, they hold the cold better when full. They have very little excess capacity, so it is best to let it run for 12 hours or so before you stock it.

But you were out long enough that it should have settled down. It should be under warranty. How far is it to your dealer? If too far, many RV dealers should be able to do warranty service on appliances.

There is a white plastic thing on the far right fin. It slides up or down. What does that do?

I had it running 24 hours before I stocked it. It is now 8 hours since we have been here and we just hit 50. Bummer

Sounds as though the burner is blowing out during travel.

I have had the same problem.

There is no indication on the control panel of the flame being out if the burner re-lights after it blows out.

What is rally going on is the burner lights, blows out, re-lights, and repeats. So, no cooling ever takes place.

And, it takes all night for the refer to cool back down, longer if the outside temp is high.

I ended up placing some aluminum tape (from the heating and air business, Lowes or HD has it) on the burner shield to cover some of the cracks. It helps a lot.

Regards,

JD

I didn't notice this before. I meant to say 2652, the model number.

The white plastic "thing" on the fin is likely a thermistor. Make sure it is slid up to the top of the fin as that will (should) make it colder.

Also, check out my link to the "snip the tip" device in my earlier post. Like CRH said, it could be a dirty gas orifice on the burner, which would not allow the gases to heat up enough. Could be a bad control board, a bad thermistor, or perhaps, the thermistor is too far down on the fin.

I was having the same problem on mine the past couple of trips. The fridge was running in the mid-forties. I finally notices that the thermistor probe had slide down inside the plastic piece that you slide up and down the fin. I repositioned it closer to the top of the plastic that grips it and made sure I slide the holder all the way up the fin. It is now running in the mid-thirties. Which is pretty good in the hot weather we are having around here, plus the fridge is 16 years old.

If it's under Dometic warranty, you might be able to take it to a local RV shop and have it serviced at no charge.

Here is a vid about a thermistor (in this case the fridge was running cold).

Fridge Temp

There are several good suggestions on this thread. The further up the right hand fin you slide the thermistor the colder the fridge gets. One thing that is counter intuitive is that keeping the fridge door closed all the time will actually make the freezer warmer. The unit only detects the fridge temp.So in a properly operating unit that has a normal amount of food in it, normal opening and closing the fridge door will lower the freezer temp because it cools the freezer first. Also when I first prepare for a trip the first thing I do is to turn on the propane and burp the line by lighting all the things that use propane. In my 25SS Safari RB I light the stove, then the heater, then the hot water heater. Then I light the fridge. Basically this will remove all the air in the system from nearest the source to furthest before lighting the fridge.

Hope that helps

That's DOMETIC ( there's no S in DOMETIC) and they're made in Sweden.
