Does anyone have any scrap vintage aluminum they would be willing to sell?

I am looking for a few pieces of left over scrap vintage aluminum for a project I have in mind. I need to cover an area about 40”x 24”. Several smaller pieces would be fine as long as they are flat. They can have dents scratches or even small holes in them. Original rivet running through the piece would be great.
Thanks Steve

Check with your local aircraft maintenance shop. Vintage Airstream aluminum is the same alloy and alclad that is in current use for aircraft sheet metal work.

Maybe someone near you in the midst of a vintage aluminum trailer restoration/renovation might have some lying around? That's a pretty small piece you're looking for, and when I pulled down half the bellypan on my 26' trailer, I had many times that number of square feet of lovely scratched, dented, riveted scraps lying around for a couple of years, that someone like you would have been welcome to have.

It's all gone now, but if anyone in your area is in the same position I was then, they likely have some extra.

Good luck, interested to see what you do with it.

I am really hoping for some beat up vintage stuff that I can work with but thanks for the idea. Its for my tow vehicle. I want to patch some body work with the scrap just for the "rustic" look. Its for my 1958 Chevy Apache pick up.

Steve,

I have a whole bunch... 2024 T3 if you intend to polish it or old rough oxidized belly pan material.

I'm about two hours from you, or I could always roll it up and UPS it to you.

Send me a PM
