Cost of Two Year Service

Greetings all:

My 2 year recommded service is coming up on my 25a 2017 FC in October.

What would be the average cost for an Authorized AS manufactures recommended 2 year service? Just trying to get a handle of the average price range for the service.

What would they service after only 2 years (assuming you haven’t put 50,000 towing miles on the unit and it’s ready for brakes).

The only maintenance I can think of is re-sealing roof top seams, etc... which runs about $1,000 to remove all the old caulk, replace with new.... but I would simply inspect first, may not even needed it.

Is the dealer assuming that no maintenance has been done? Sky's the limit in that case.🥴

This is all thats on the schedule at 2 yrs.🤔

$1000 for a roof caulk removal and redo? Geeezz. That’s what’s wrong with the RV repair industry. Bring it to me I’ll do it for half that... and do a better job to boot.

Well it’s 8 hours labor, they’re running a seasonal Business, keeping people employed, have overhead, facilities costs, Supply costs, etc... and they need to make some profit so they can keep their doors open.

Generally speaking gross profit on labor is not huge margin after you add up all the associated capital and operating costs. Just say’n... [emoji4]

You can and should be able to do everything on the 5K/90 day list yourself.

If your trailer is in covered storage and out of the sun, you may not need roof sealant for quite a few years.

Not sure why the LPG tanks need to be purged annually. Can anyone comment on this?

A-frame and Step repainting probably depends on where you live, where you store and where you travel. I've never come close to needing this on my last two trailers made during this decade. My wife is going to do it on our 68 Caravel this year, not because it's rusty....just looking funky.

Oh no you don't, I'll do it for $400...😂

Purging LPG...I've only had to do that after replacing the valve, new tanks would also need it.

Aprilrain each of the trailer owner's manuals have a complete maintenance calendar. Airstream.com site under Owner's tab and you can download manuals for any trailer/coach and year.

If you have Adseal caulk on your roof it would probably be a 4-5 hour job. However, if you have Silaflex or Dicor and it is hardened expect close to two day job in a 34 footer.
