Controlling condensation

Hi all

We just spent 5 days in the North Cascades with our two kids and two dogs...total of 4 humans and 2 dogs in our 30 ft airstream bunk house.

We kept the temperature between 60-65 degrees which was within 10 degrees or so of the outside. We tried to keep the fantastic fan on as much as possible and the heat ran a little at night to keep the temps above 61.

We kept the vents open. It was a little rainy on/off.

However, we still got a lot of moisture inside, especially around the walls and windows.

What are some tips and things we can do to reduce moisture??

We use a massive dehumidifier. By massive, it’s not that big but it’s larger than the table top model. I think it’s rated for 1100 square feet. Fits under the table for storage.

You only need a dehumidifier when running heat.

Some people also is the portable damp rid as well.

We too use a dehumidifier when needed. I think it's a 20 pint, may be a 30. I sit it at the end of the dinette table. Keeps the 30 footer dry. No moisture at all. Empty tank every other day or so.

We went to Home Depot and bought a GE 20 pint. Selected it based on size. Only ever used it when on shore power.

We only use this when on hookups. It sounds weird but when we are off hookups and using heat we just end up cracking a window in back or just shutting off the heat and layering more blankets on the bed and switching to flannel sheets.

Got ours on amazon. Just bought based on reviews and ratings. Narrowed down the options significantly.

I life full time in my 27FB. I’m on full hookups in the cold weather when I need a dehumidifier. I usually only run it when I go to bed or when I’m cooking. I got this one (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B8SCPZ4..._pokaFb4WXKCY5 ) last fall and have been very happy with it. It is so quiet I have to look at the screen to make sure it’s running sometimes. Since I got it I have had zero condensation build up with as many as 2 adults, 1 teen, and a dog in the trailer at 1 time.
