Clearing HVAC condensate drain tubes - How to?
Question: What is the correct procedure or best practice for clearing rooftop Dometic HVAC unit condensate drain lines?
Basis for Question: We have denoted that when operating (cooling cycle), condensed water generated by the roof top Dometic HVAC units drains by means of tubes which exit inside of the roadside wheel well/arches (both forward of the front axle/wheels (for center/midship unit) and aft of the rear axle for (rear/BR unit).
Problem we're encountering: The rear (Bedroom) unit is not draining properly as we only see an occasional small drip from its drain hose inside the wheel well while additional water must be pooling on the roof area and ultimately drains down the sides of the trailer. (This is not happening with the forward units as when we run it, we see a near steady stream of the condensate draining from its tube with no additional drainage from the rooftop or down alongside the body of the trailer).
How to Fix?: we suspect it may be acceptable to simply blow some "forced air" up into the hose from its exit point inside of the wheel well but before attempting this, we wanted to ask around here in the AF what other members encountering the same issue have done.
