Clearance/Marker Light Replacement

Hello all,

I've gone through many of the multiple threads around replacing marker lights and I'm not really getting the answers I need so here goes.

I have an '83 Limited (34') and some of the marker lights are deteriorating. I’m considering replacing with LED fixtures but am ok with original incandescent lamps. I’ve looked at a few models and some I bought had the “drip/weep hole” on the top of the light (based on the entry point of the hot wire through the skin).

I have also looked online at a number of lights that have multiple holes on the top sides and bottom.

Are these ok? Do these require sealing with Vulkem/Parbond or another sealant? Are there lights that have no hole on the top or sides that just allow for condensation to weep out through a bottom hole?

Finally, are gaskets required? Do they help prevent leaking?

Thanks,
