Classic shower door

1st trip and the shower door is broken. Top of door (aluminum strip with plastic item and screw) has come off and in order to open door you have to lift it up. Also seems like it should have a bushing at bottom so you would not have to lift it up. Can someone help with a permanent fix? Thanks

My 2013 classic also fell apart, found out who built it and called their sales dept and they shipped me all the parts, just like new...

Need to lift shower door on 2016 Classic to open it

On our first cross-country trip with it, we've had to fight the door to open it. Seems like a spacer must be missing on the bottom.
BTW, we've had the usual problems with new Classics: dented fridge door from protruding pantry handle. Also had to reattach bathroom mirror that pulled away from the flimsy double stick tape mount.
Otherwise, all is good.

This is pretty common to AS Shower doors. To much weight and the door drops. There isn't a missing shim but it is easy to put one on each side. On my one warranty trip I had the service dept at JS put in a shim on both sides. They know exactly what is needed. May want to call and see if they can send a pair to you. They screw into the side wall of the shower.

In the meantime stop at HD or ACE and find a couple of nylon wedges. Forgot what dept I found them in, but they worked as a temporary fix.

There are numerous posts on the shower door issue. We had ours replaced at considerable expense.

We had similar problems with the shower door in our 2014 Airstream. We had the factory service center install the shims as previously discussed and that worked for awhile. Then the door started to act up again and I made some adjustments to the factory installed shims and that worked for a little while. Eventually the problem got to be so bad that we simply removed the shower door and now use a shower curtain. We love the curtain! It is easy to use, weighs a lot less than the shower door and when open does not impede movement in the shower/toilet area. If we ever get another Airstream that has a shower door, our first home improvement project will be it's removal.
