I am inheriting a 1983 300 classic. I have many questions ......I have been searching through some of the topics on various threads. I plan to work with the leveling system intsaled. I know that the beast weighs in at 12,000 lbs. I have been told that it will lift the AS off the ground which I need to do to bleed the brakes and take the wheels off. I just want to confirm that the system will do that. I plan to put big stands under it before I go crawling around it's belly. I found that other members Located the pump under the driver's seat and I guess the resivoir is near by. I was only planning to lift one end at a time. I was told that a single new house battery would be enough to operate the system. Does that sound correct? I don't want to get it up in the air and not be able to lower it back down. There was only one photo of a 280 lifted off the ground that I found. This AS has been dormant for 15 years. Are there any quirks in the leveling system I should know about before I start pulling levers? Can anyone post close up pics of the feet extended? Thanks in advance
Do yo know what jack system you have? Many use a HWH system with folding jacks. They will lift the front end with no problem. When you lift the rear you loose your parking brake which is on the driveshaft. I usually chock the front wheels front and back, if it rolls the jacks will fold. With the rear as high as the jacks will go you can use a small jack under the axle to raise the wheels off the ground for removal. Any car battery will run the jacks.

Send me a PM with your email and I'll send you the HWH manual.
Also you might ask one of the moderators to move this to the classic motorhome section, it will get more attention.
