Canvas screened Camping Porch?

When we purchased our 92 Excella 29' we got with it a big bag with a canvas porch to snap on trailer. It is screened in but I don't know what it really is called. Getting ready to pull it out and try it but wondered if anyone knows much about it or what the value is? Along with it were tire covers. Just wondering.

Zip Dee Tropical Room. They normally run around $1300.00 plus shipping depending on size. Makes a great addition and expands the living area.

Enjoy,

The patio room is great. Takes some practice to put up properly. The zip dee has bladders that you fill with water to weigh down the screens.

Yep that is it. Didn't know I had it - just put it off to side when I got home. Great idea and just added value to a great deal - thanks all for the information

Know where I could get just the bladders? I have a Fiamma Privacy Room to use with my Airstream Interatate's Fiamma awning, but I can't use it at campsites that are paved or decked because I can't stake down the edges there. The bladders seem like a workable solution to that problem, but Fiamma (naturally) doesn't have any.

Being a full-timer, and also single woman who is still employed, I don't put up my awning except on weekends. I don't want to come home and find that high winds have ripped the awning off and damaged the trailer.

I like the look, the function and space of these awning enclosures offer, however in my case I would only consider getting a freestanding screen room with the optional canvas sides because the potential for damage would be less, as would the replacement cost for the screen room. These are nifty - and at $1300 - congratulations on getting one as a freebie with your new Airstream. If you go to rallies a lot, you can ask any of your fellow campers to handle it in a storm, but if you're alone check the weather before you leave the trailer unattended.

(At an Aluminapalooza I headed back to my trailer to take the awning down because a storm was moving in. A couple dozen people were running from trailer to trailer taking down awnings - sure enough every awning down within 3 or 4 minutes. I didn't even get a chance to help. I've seen the same thing at my home campground. Campers are nice people!)
