can you believe this?

arial5red

you may not believe this inquiry, or perhaps you have heard it before, & i'm unaware since i hardly ever come to this site.

does anyone know if it is possible to convert an airstream trailer into a house boat, by putting the trailer on a pontoon?

if so, i would love to get info about this!!!!!!

I'm sitting here right now in my Airstream looking out over the Yellowstone River in Montana, 35 miles north of Yellowstone Park, and have been thinking of getting my pontoon boat (cataraft) out to float the river. Now, you've given me an idea -- why not just get bigger tubes and a frame, and put my trailer on it to float down the river? Of course the tubes on my boat, at 11'3" long and 19" diameter only support about 500 pounds, so I'd need something a bit larger to carry 9000 pounds, but I'd say it could be done.

I just wonder how big the oars would need to be to navigate the first rapids I come to.

I tried it. Doesn't work.

Just kidding, that's apparently a shot from a 1997 Nevada flood, of all things.

Why re-invent the wheel??

I believe this is what you're looking for:

Its made of alluminum, assembled with lots of rivets....

its very mobile...

it floats....

It can be polished...

It can (and has been) restored, and converted to a full-time residence...a flying-house boat....

It costs alot of money....

and the coolest bonus: it flies
