Cable from Airstream

I have a '72 31' Sovereign. The original cable from the Airstream to my 2015 F-150 is not compatible on the truck side. Do I need an adaptor or a whole new cable. And if so where do I get one?

Howdy!
Best to upgrade the umbilical to current connection. Since this is an "older" AS, there is no telling if the connection has been modified... now is the time.

Get a few pics of the setup... on AS umbilical.

You probably have the older 6pin round style. If the chord is in good shape, installing a new 7-pin style plug on the truck end is not a big deal. I had to do it on my 68 Trade Wind. If you do change the plug, just be sure to check each wire's function. Wiring diagrams for which pin does what are readily available. I did have to change a couple of connections at the trailer end of mine so that the plug and truck wiring and the trailer all were in synch. and would conform to the current industry standard.. That way if someone else pulls the trailer all the lights trailer breaks will work as they should.

Hi

The "new" 7 pin cable is what you will see on pretty much any tow vehicle these days. You can get a connector and wire it your self or get a pre made cable. Both are available from a bunch of places. I'd phone your local parts outlet first.
