Black water Valve Leaking

Hey Yíall.
I have a 1985 Sovereign. My black water valve leaks by a little bit. Itís not a big deal when hooked up at the campground. However, when I get to the campsite thereís always a little sludge and juice that runs out. Itís pretty gross.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Does anyone have pics of what it looks like where the valve is inside the belly pan?

Thanks!!!

I replaced my black and gray valves due to the plastic adapters that go between the valve and the tank being cracked. I used a pair of electric shears to cut an access hole in the belly. Replacing the valves was pretty straight forward. I made a cover plate out of an old street sign to cover the hole.

You might want to check in the sub-forum which includes your 1985 Sovereign, and in the plumbing Waste tanks etc. sub-forum:

Also FYI -- "black water valve leak site:airforums.com" search results:

BTW we had a 1985 Sovereign 25' back in the 1990's. Great model and vintage IMO.

Good luck,

I also replaced both valves in our AS Cut the bottom of the box to access the valves. Be very careful out tanks were about a 1/4Ē above the bottom. After first cutting a small hole I looked inside and then cut a larger access. Then installed a cover with short screws.
