Black Tank Cable does not Close Completely

The wire clips on the black tank handle can not be secured, so it stays somewhat open and possibly leaking into the drainage pipe. How would we fix this?

My handles are adjustable. What you have to determine is, is the valve closed and the handle needs adjusting, or is there something in the valve that is keeping it from closing? There is a nut on the wire side of the handle. Loosen it and the handle will turn on the threaded rod. You may be able to shorten the cable enough to get the clips to lock. If not, it is probable that there is something stuck in the valve.

Al, Thanks for the feed back. The next time i have the sewer connected I will follow up on all your suggestions. Wish i could trade this black tank problem for another one. Thank you.
